About this rug
Loosely knotted jute in burnt sienna and tan gives the rug a hairy, rustic surface and a high pile. It is knotted by hand in India. Jute is coarser than wool, so this is a rug for socks and bare feet at most, not for lying on.
Living rooms, dining areas, bedrooms and studies with a natural or earthy scheme. Under a sofa or a bed, where the high pile will not be crushed by chair legs.

Size & fit
| 120 x 180 cm | Beside a bed, at an entrance, or under a coffee table in a small room. |
| 160 x 230 cm | Under a coffee table with the front legs of a 2–3 seat sofa on it. Also a small bedroom. |
| 190 x 290 cm | Most living rooms, with the front legs of every seat on the rug. Under a queen bed. |
| 8 x 10 ft | Larger living rooms and open-plan spaces. Under a king bed, or a dining table for six. |
Measuring. Leave 30–45 cm (12–18 in) of floor showing around the rug. Under a dining table, allow 60 cm (24 in) beyond each side so chairs stay on the rug when pulled out.
Handmade rugs can vary slightly from the stated size. Need a different size? Ask us about the measurements you need and we’ll confirm the options.
Care
- Vacuum on suction only. A beater bar will pull the long pile.
- Shake the rug or turn it face down and vacuum the back now and then to lift grit.
- Blot spills straight away with a clean, dry cloth.
- A high pile sheds in the first weeks. This settles.
- Use a rug pad on hard floors so the rug stays flat and does not slip.
- For a deep clean, use a professional rug cleaner.

How long will my rug take?
Handwoven and hand-tufted rugs generally take 4–6 weeks to make and deliver to your home. Hand-knotted rugs take around 13–14 weeks.
Can I get it in another size?
Choose “Custom size” beside the sizes above. Enter your dimensions and email, and we’ll confirm the options, price and timing.
Can I see the colour before I order?
A sample can help you check colour and texture in your room. Tell us which rug you’re considering and we’ll confirm the sample options and timing. Ask about a sample.
Will a new wool rug shed?
New wool rugs can shed loose fibres at first. Gentle, regular vacuuming helps. If you’re concerned about your rug, send us a photo and we’ll help.
How do I look after it?
Vacuum weekly without a beater bar, blot spills with a dry white cloth, rotate every 6–12 months and use a rug pad. Full care guide.
