About this rug

One tribal medallion in faded black sits on an ivory ground, with grey in the detail around it. The pile is low and the surface reads flat and smooth. It is hand-knotted in India from wool, so the fading in the medallion varies a little from rug to rug.

Living rooms and bedrooms with white walls, black frames or plain timber. The strong contrast shows every crumb, so it works better in a quiet room than a busy kitchen-diner.

Size & fit
120 x 180 cmBeside a bed, at an entrance, or under a coffee table in a small room.
160 x 230 cmUnder a coffee table with the front legs of a 2–3 seat sofa on it. Also a small bedroom.
190 x 290 cmMost living rooms, with the front legs of every seat on the rug. Under a queen bed.
8 x 10 ftLarger living rooms and open-plan spaces. Under a king bed, or a dining table for six.

Measuring. Leave 30–45 cm (12–18 in) of floor showing around the rug. Under a dining table, allow 60 cm (24 in) beyond each side so chairs stay on the rug when pulled out.

Care
  • Vacuum once a week on suction only, with the beater bar off.
  • Blot spills straight away with a clean, dry cloth. Do not rub.
  • Wool sheds a little in the first weeks. Regular vacuuming clears it.
  • Snip any loose end level with the pile. Never pull it.
  • Turn the rug every six months so it wears and fades evenly.
  • Use a rug pad on hard floors so the rug stays flat and does not slip.
  • For a deep clean, use a professional rug cleaner.

Questions

Before you buy

A few things to know before ordering.

Talk to a rug specialist →

Are tax and shipping included?

Yes. Prices include tax and shipping is free worldwide.

How long will my rug take?

Handwoven and hand-tufted rugs generally take 4–6 weeks to make and deliver to your home. Hand-knotted rugs take around 13–14 weeks.

Can I get it in another size?

Choose “Custom size” beside the sizes above. Enter your dimensions and email, and we’ll confirm the options, price and timing.

Can I see the colour before I order?

A sample can help you check colour and texture in your room. Tell us which rug you’re considering and we’ll confirm the sample options and timing. Ask about a sample.

Will a new wool rug shed?

New wool rugs can shed loose fibres at first. Gentle, regular vacuuming helps. If you’re concerned about your rug, send us a photo and we’ll help.

How do I look after it?

Vacuum weekly without a beater bar, blot spills with a dry white cloth, rotate every 6–12 months and use a rug pad. Full care guide.

Do you work with interior designers?

Yes — trade pricing from your first order. Trade program.
